Today’s lecture was about listening. One aspect that we talk about is how easy it is to become distracted while listening. Because our minds are processing supercenters we can process messages faster than we speak them. Naturally, we fill the excess time with errant thoughts.
To help my students focus on the lecture and less on me and my outfit, I dressed very simply today. A long-sleeve button down because it’s getting a little chilly in the mornings coupled with conservative black pin-striped pants. A black belt, black shoes, and a necklace that was given to me by my grandma completed the look.
It may not be the most inspired outfit, but I managed not to go to class naked or wearing an apple appliqued cardigan. To me, that is success.
