Thrifting

I know that there are some people who don’t like the idea of wearing clothes that someone else has worn.  But, for me, I try not to focus on that as much as the price and the uniqueness.  Sure, there are days when I know exactly what I want and I just want to be able to walk into a store and purchase the item in the exact size and color.  But, then there are days when I am looking for something off the beaten path.  Or, I don’t want to pay retail for it, knowing full well that I can find it for cheaper.  Or, perhaps there are things that I want but have no hope of affording–like name brand items.  I can hardly fathom paying $40 for a blouse at Ann Taylor, but I won’t hesitate to pay $6.00 for one at the Goodwill.

Now, I do have my standards.  I won’t buy certain items from the Goodwill.  Like undergarments, socks, or bathing suits.  But, the rest is pretty much fair game.
